Mincom Ellipse
Mincom Ellipse is an asset management system, which includes
financial data and work flow management. I have been contracted by
UU for three years, leading a team that has developed a suite of
applications, called GTI, which integrate with Ellipse.
By developing integrated applications using the Microsoft .Net
Framework the applications have streamlined user-interfaces,
tailored to suit specific business processes. Users no longer need
to be trained in, or have to use, the Ellipse system directly.
The team have been so successful, that after over 5 years of
near inactivity, Ellipse data is now part of business as usual and
is used by many users on a daily basis:
- Asset records are kept up-to-date by user in the field.
- Asset cyclic maintenance, and reactive work, now follow a
simple business process, providing accurate asset and employee
data.
